11 Plus Lessons

Our philosophy towards the 11+ exams here at Enrich Tutoring is built on the following key points:

• Every child has the right to access to education.
• Traditional teaching methods are used to explain each topic to the children and show them how to complete each question type.
• Homework is given every week which is based upon what the children have been doing in class that week.
• We speak to parents after every class to inform them of what we've been studying that week and how well their child has got on with the work. Areas to focus on are always highlighted so the parents constantly know how their child is performing.
• Small groups of no more than 6 children allow the children to learn with their peers at the same time as having access to individualised support within the classroom from qualified, experienced teachers.
• Every child matters equally.
• Improvements in a child's confidence with their work leads to an increased chance of success in the 11+, but also an improvement in performance in their school work.
• One hour of English/verbal reasoning per week and one hour of maths/non-verbal reasoning per week, when combined with homework and additional study at home, is generally sufficient for a high chance of success.
• We are here not only to guide and support the children, but the parents too. We are open to discussion with parents and to answer any questions or concerns they have along the way.
• Our success rate with the 11+ is very high, but equally important to us is the fact that every child that studies with us shows improvement in their performance at school. Even those children that don't go on to pass the 11+ always show improved performance in their school work and we take great pride in that.
